How We Are Different
How Are We Different?

As a proud autistic man, I understand the language and needs of someone with autism and the patience and understanding required in the classroom setting. I was not diagnosed until I was 40 years old and I never understood why I was different, why I wasn't able to function socially, or why I couldn't fit into a neurotypical world. However, the one thing that I always had was music. Since I was 6 years old, music has had the ability to transport me to a place where I could feel calm, it is my escape from anxiety and the connection that I need to feel whole. I know the power of music, I know how music has enriched my life. I want to be able to show children with autism and special needs, that different is beautiful.
